Awhile back I remember someone having trouble with Linux resolving<br />
Windows' hostnames or Linux NetBios names. I found this which has worked<br />
with my boxes:<br />
<br />
1.) Make sure that Samba is setup properly and you can see the Linux<br />
samba shares from the Windows boxes.<br />
<br />
2.) edit your /etc/nsswitch.conf file<br />
search for the line starting with hosts (my line was like this "hosts:<br />
files dns")<br />
add "wins" to the line ("hosts: files dns wins")<br />
