Awhile back I remember someone having trouble with Linux resolving&lt;br /&gt;
Windows&amp;#039; hostnames or Linux NetBios names. I found this which has worked&lt;br /&gt;
with my boxes:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1.) Make sure that Samba is setup properly and you can see the Linux&lt;br /&gt;
samba shares from the Windows boxes.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
2.) edit your /etc/nsswitch.conf file&lt;br /&gt;
search for the line starting with hosts (my line was like this &amp;quot;hosts:&lt;br /&gt;
files dns&amp;quot;)&lt;br /&gt;
add &amp;quot;wins&amp;quot; to the line (&amp;quot;hosts: files dns wins&amp;quot;)&lt;br /&gt;
